Dental Crowns & Bridges, Kelowna Dentist

What are Crowns & Bridges?

Bridges and crowns are both restorative dental treatments that can help to return regular appearance and function to the smile of a patient suffering from damaged, seriously decayed or missing teeth.

They are capable of filling the spaces left by missing or extracted teeth to help you maintain the shape and structure of your face as well as return your ability to chew and speak properly.

By repairing structural problems such as damaged or missing teeth using a dental crown or bridge, our dentists can change your smile's appearance – and preserve your oral health.

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are a hollow, artificial tooth that is placed over an entire damaged or decayed tooth in order to restore its original shape, colour and size. Crowns help to change the appearance of a broken tooth and strengthen its structure to prevent its removal from your smile.

Crowns are strong and can be made from a variety of materials, including porcelain and metal. They look and function like natural teeth, and if cared for properly, can last 10 years or more.

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge is a natural-looking restoration that bridges a gap of missing teeth in your smile. Bridges are composed of one or more artificial teeth and are affixed to teeth on either side of your gap in order to fill the missing space in your smile.

A bridge helps to prevent your other teeth from shifting positions to fill the space, which could lead to more serious dental issues including gum disease.
