Dr. Amanda Resener graduated from the University of Saskatchewan College of Dentistry in 2008. Prior to receiving her DMD, she completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, graduating with Great Distinction. In 2006, Amanda travelled to Vietnam to volunteer with the East Meets West Dental Centre to provide dental services to disadvantaged children with no access to dental care. Working out of a mobile dental clinic in a rural schoolhouse, the experience was enlightening and allowed Amanda to truly comprehend the most basic and most important role of a Dentist, to help people.
After graduation, Amanda began her dental career at a busy family practice in Saskatoon. A few years later, she and her husband made the decision to relocate to Kelowna so that they could enjoy the Okanagan lifestyle and be closer to family.
Dr. Resener is passionate about providing the highest quality dental care she can to her patients while utilizing conservative techniques in a friendly, low stress environment. Amanda especially loves working with children, and also has a special interest in endodontics (root canal therapy).
Since arriving in the Okanagan, Dr. Resener has been a member of the R.V. Tucker Gold Study Club, which promotes clinical excellence through the use of cast gold as a restorative material that is conservative, longlasting, and of high quality. The primary purpose of the study club is the pursuit and promotion of excellence in the practice of conservative dentistry, which can be applied not only to gold restorations, but to all aspects of the profession.
Outside of Dentistry, Amanda loves traveling, camping, and most of all spending family time with her husband and their young daughter in the beautiful Okanagan. As a creative outlet, Amanda enjoys refinishing and antiquing wood furniture.
