The future of dentistry is here and thriving at Landmark Dental

Landmark Dental Centre prides itself on using some of the newest dental technology.

Advancements in new dental technology offer better solutions for traditional oral health problems than ever before. The trend in dentistry is utilizing technology to make dentistry more comfortable, durable, efficient and natural-looking for the patient as possible. Patients and their dentists benefit from newer techniques that are less invasive and more dependable than the years of past. Procedures that formerly took multiple trips to the dentist or required multiple health care providers can often be performed in the comfort of one office by one qualified provider. There are many new advancements in dentistry that your dentist may choose to offer for an enhanced state of comfort and improved oral health. These dental advances play an important role in the comfort of the patients as well as the dentists, dental specialists, hygienists, and office managers at the practice, allowing them to provide the highest standard of dental care possible. Some technologies you may see the next time you visit your dentist may include:

The VELscope

Recognized by the World Health Organization, the award-winning VELscope® Vx is the world's most widely used adjunctive device for the enhanced visualization of oral mucosal abnormalities, such as oral cancer or pre-malignant dysplasia. At Landmark Dental Centre, we are fortunate to have a team trained and experienced in the use of auto-fluorescence or VELscope. It is with this advanced technology, along with a tactical examination of your head and neck by your dentist and dental hygienist, that we are able to screen for any signs of oral cancer in your mouth. As with many technologies, it is only as good as the knowledge of those using it. Dr. Brent Corlazzoli and his associates are all highly trained in the use of VELscope and in the performance of oral cancer screenings. In fact, Dr. Salaberry is one of three dentists trained in Oral Oncology (cancer) working locally at SAHCSI. They also work with the team of Specialists at the Vancouver BC Cancer Agency who developed & continue to do research on surgical implementation of this important technology.

Low-Dose Digital X-Rays

You don't need to worry about radiation when you get x-rays at Landmark Dental. We only use digital radiographing technologies, which means the already low dose of radiation from dental x-rays is further reduced by 90%. For reference: You would get more radiation taking a walk in the sunshine. We know that Digital X-Rays are the future. To take your x-ray, we place a small sensor in your mouth. The sensor is connected to a computer by a thin wire. Next, an x-ray beam is sent through your teeth and into the sensor, which records the image of your teeth and sends it to the computer. The sensor can then be repositioned to photograph other sections of your teeth. After taking the x-ray, the images are stored on a computer, which can be called up at any time.

Zoom!® Teeth Whitening

Want radiant results in just one visit? At Landmark Dental, we use Zoom!® WhiteSpeed, as this is the only in-office system that has variable intensity setting so each treatment can be customized to maximize patient comfort. Advanced technology for proven results.
